THERAPEUTIC ACTION

Gerson Therapy: Initially, Gerson used his therapy as a treatment for migraine headaches and tuberculosis. In 1928, he began to use it as a supposed treatment for cancer.

Gerson Therapy is based on the belief that disease is caused by the accumulation of unspecified toxins, and attempts to treat the disease by having patients consume a predominantly vegetarian diet including hourly glasses of organic juice and various dietary supplements. Animal proteins are excluded from the diet under the unproven premise that tumors develop as a result of pancreatic enzyme deficiency. In addition, patients receive enemas of coffee, castor oil and sometimes hydrogen peroxide or ozone.

Glutamic and Aspartic Acid Reduced (G.A.R.D): The G.A.R.D.- an elimination diet for the treatment of most conditions afflicting man and his four-legged companions. The original meaning of the acronym was the glutamate & aspartate restricted diet, derived from the fact that The G.A.R.D. placed a premium on the elimination of two non-essential amino acids, glutamic and aspartic acid.

Grain-Free - Grain-Reduced Diet: Grain-Free is the elimination of all grains including wheat,  rice, corn, barley and oats.   A grain-free diet has been proven through the personal experience of hundreds of people worldwide who have experienced significant relief from symptoms of crohn’s disease (and many other illnesses of the digestive system) and also for chronic fatigue. Main-stream medicine disputes this due to the fact  that the so-called evidence is anecdotal in nature, and cannot be backed up or substantiated by clinical trials or studies.  They will tell you that there is no evidence that diet can play such a pivotal role.

Grounding - Contact with the Earth: Within the sphere of fringe science, earthing or grounding is a practice which proponents claim provides an array of health benefits. The therapy involves being in direct physical contact with the ground or with a device connected to electrical ground.

Guided imagery (also known as Guided Affective Imagery, or KIP, Katathym-imaginative Psychotherapy) is a mind-body intervention by which a trained practitioner or teacher helps a participant or patient to evoke and generate mental images that simulate or re-create the sensory perception of sights, sounds, tastes, smells, movements, and images associated with touch, such as texture, temperature, and pressure, as well as imaginative or mental content that the participant or patient experiences as defying conventional sensory categories, and that may precipitate strong emotions or feelings in the absence of the stimuli to which correlating sensory receptors are receptive.

Gum Chewing: Chewing gum is a soft, cohesive substance designed to be chewed without being swallowed. Modern chewing gum is composed of gum base, sweeteners, softeners/plasticizers, flavors, colors, and, typically, a hard or powdered polyol coating. Its texture is reminiscent of rubber because of the physical-chemical properties of its polymer, plasticizer, and resin components, which contribute to its elastic-plastic, sticky, chewy characteristics.
