Covid virus ‘leaked from Wuhan lab’, new evidence suggests

<a href=There’s growing evidence the Covid-19 virus—SARS-COV-2—escaped from the research laboratory in Wuhan, China.

The US’s State Department is assessing the likelihood of a laboratory leak after discovering that Chinese scientists have been working on producing a new virus that could be used in chemical warfare for the last 10 years.

The Chinese scientists updated the scientific community on their progress in a paper published in Nature in 2015 and explained how they were altering the spike protein of a bat coronavirus to infect human cells.  In the paper, entitled The Unnatural Origin of SARS and New Species of Man-Made Viruses as Genetic Bioweapons, they described the viruses as “a new era of genetic weapons which can be artificially manipulated into an emerging human disease virus, then weaponised and unleashed in a way never seen before.”

They even explain how the viruses could be released, ideally at night or when there was no sunshine and little wind.

In an update in 2018, the scientists revealed they had developed four new pathogens and 10 new strains of bacteria.

The response by the Chinese Communist Party following the start of the Covid-19 epidemic adds to the growing suspicions of a leak, from silencing Wuhan scientists to providing only partial co-operation to World Health Organization investigators.
